The Spring 2016 semester is winding down at PSU, and things have been bustling. We’re looking at ASHA’s Communication Takes Care initiative this May as a chance to catch up on some of the things our AAC Community has been doing.
Dr. Jennifer Thistle graduated from the PSU doctoral program with the AAC Leadership Project in August of 2014. She has joined the faculty at University of Wisconsin Eau-Claire as an Assistant Professor, and continues to extend her research line examining the visual features of displays –including exploring the effect of consistent symbol placement on the response time to locate symbols across multiple sessions.
In recognition of her work, Dr. Thistle is a recipient of the 2016 Vicki Lord Larson Faculty Research Fellowship. This research fellowship supports faculty in Communication Sciences and Disorders to engage in faculty/student research, and allows students to be involved in all aspects of the research process.
