Recognition for Christine Holyfield joining the AAC Leadership Project is long overdue from last Fall (2014), with our apologies for missing that opportunity! From the beginning, she has been a truly valuable member on research efforts for Young Children (and older individuals who are Beginning Communicators), and Literacy; and we are grateful for her insights and contributions.
Congratulations also to Tara O’Neill, Kelsey Mandak, and Ashley McCoy! Tara and Kelsey are also from the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, and Ashley comes from the Department of Special Education.
With the RERC on AAC research and development projects under way, we are especially pleased to have such a robust and committed community.
The Leadership Project is a federally funded training grant in AAC (U.S. Department of Education grant #H325D110008) designed to prepare and support faculty researchers specifically interested in the unique needs of persons with complex communication needs.
