Penn State was proud to host two speech-language pathologists from Poland during the week of November 7, 2011. Aldona Mysakowska-Adamczyk, from Warsaw, and Alina Smyczek, from Krakow, were hosted at Penn State through the Hintz Children’s Communicative Competence Endowment. Aldona and Alina described the cultural background and current state of AAC in Poland. They lectured to undergraduate and graduate students, and provided an opportunity for us to learn about issues related to AAC use and instruction in Poland within a cultural context.
