ONeill Wilkinson Example Symbol SetWilkinson, K. M., McIlvane, W. J., Weasen, K., & O’Neill, T. (2011). Gaze fixation during search for a symbol on AAC displays. Poster to be presented at the annual conference of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, San Diego, CA (November).  [Poster]

The efficiency of finding a symbol on an AAC display can be facilitated by specific display organizations. We sought to determine what underlies this facilitation, by recording eye gaze during search for a symbol. Improved efficiency of behavioral response was associated with reduction the number of symbols examined during search.
