Abstract: Individuals with developmental disabilities were presented with AAC displays containing a visual scene display and a navigation bar. A spoken sentence cued participants to find a target navigation icon within the bar. Visual attention during search was recorded through automated eye tracking technology. Increases in the likelihood and duration of fixation to the target icon suggested comprehension of the cue.
