AAC & adapted literacy instruction: Closing the research-to-practice gap through online training of preservice SLPs. Poster at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Conference, Boston, MA.
Abstract: SLPs indicate lack of training in the provision of adapted literacy instruction for individuals who use AAC. Despite research findings that these individuals can learn to read, a gap exists between research and clinical outcomes. In an effort to close the research-to-practice gap, an online module was developed to train preservice SLPs in the provision of adapted literacy instruction.
