Laubscher, E., & Light, J. (2018, November). A systematic review of language comprehension interventions for beginning communicators with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Poster at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Conference, Boston, MA.
Laubscher & Light (2018) Handout (pdf)
Abstract: Language comprehension serves as a foundation for building expressive language. Individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) often evidence deficits in language comprehension, yet this skill receives relatively little attention in research. This systematic review aims to identify what is known about language comprehension interventions for individuals with ASD who are beginning communicators, and to identify future research priorities.
