Recently the PennState News reported on the work developed by Tara O’Neill and Kelsey Mandak, along with faculty Dr. Janice Light and Dr. Gregory Fosco, to support Speech-Language Pathologists in their efforts to provide AAC interventions aligned with a family-centered approach. Bringing together the fields of Communication Sciences and Disorders with Human Development and Family Studies, the tutorial developed out of these collaborations outlines principles, clinical suggestions, resources and real-world tools.
Accordingly, this framework seeks to increase positive outcomes of effectiveness, satisfaction, and opportunities to communicate.
