New Research Project: pALS who use AAC and Social Media

Recruitment message:
In this research project, we are interested in learning about the successful use of social media, barriers to social media, and ideas for changes in terms of design or policy. We are seeking individuals who have a diagnosis of ALS, use Augmentative Communication, and use social media at least three times week.  [Poster]
The research will take place on an online discussion forum. If participating, you will be asked to post about your experiences and opinions as a response to a question posed to the discussion forum. One question will be posted per week, over a 6-8 week period.
We will review the responses we receive from individuals who use AAC and social media, and we will use this information to inform how we create access to social media, focus on social media as a way of communication, and as a starting point for future research.
This research project is being conducted as part of the research program of the AAC Program at Penn State University, and has been approved by the Human Subjects Protection Office at Penn State University.
