There is limited knowledge regarding Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) training in developing countries. Nimisha Muttiah is a second year doctoral student at Pennsylvania State University specializing in AAC. She is conducting a project with Dr. Kathryn Drager and Dr. David McNaughton involving experts in developing countries (or who have had experience with training professionals from these countries) to participate in an online-focus group discussions about the process and experience.
Nimisha is originally from Sri Lanka herself. This initial study will help inform a training program she will conduct in Sri Lanka in the summer of 2013.
