The Penn State AAC Leadership Project doctoral curriculum is designed to provide training in research methods, college level teaching, evidence-based practices for high children who require AAC, policy and professional issues, interdisciplinary collaboration, and leadership skills.  Persons interested in learning more about the applying to the AAC Leadership Project can find more information  here.
Abstract:
This poster will describe the curriculum and present preliminary outcome data for the Penn State AAC Leadership Project. This doctoral training grant addresses the critical shortage of PhD faculty with competencies to conduct research and preservice training of SLPs to improve services and results for individuals who require AAC.
 
Learner Outcomes:
Learner Outcome 1: describe the need for researchers/university faculty with expertise in AAC.
Learner Outcome 2: describe a model for doctoral training in AAC.
Learner Outcome 3: explain outcome measures for evaluating the effects of doctoral training in AAC.
