AAC Intervention with Just-in-Time (JIT) Technology and Visual Scene Displays (VSDs) with Adolescents with Severe Disabilities. Poster session at ASHA: Denver, Colorado. [Handout].
Abstract:
The current investigation presents an evidence-based augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) intervention with chronologically older individuals (school-age and adolescents) who were beginning communicators, including the use of visual scene displays and “just-in-time” technology (quickly and easily adding content to an AAC system “on the fly” during daily interactions).
Learner Outcomes:
Learner Outcome 1: Describe major elements of the study design
Learner Outcome 2: Discuss the authors’ conclusions
Learner Outcome 3: Identify possible implications for practice
